McCall's Pajama Top 6231

The first pajama top in my series of pajama tops is finished.  I think it turned out great.  It is a simple pattern with a V-neck.  Joe thinks it is soft and comfortable.  The flannel sheet worked great for the material.
When I find the right material for the pants, I will make some from the same pattern.

Now, I am going to work on a pajama top for myself.  Since I wear a small, I am going to use the McCall's 5511 I have.  I am going to make mine with the simple collar with a brown flannel sheet I have.

Looks like more rain today, so a sewing I will go.

Rainy day and sewing

The last few days were sunny and warm.  So I spent time outside enjoying the sun since the forecast for a week of rain meant I would be inside this week.
This means I have been doing some sewing today.  I cut out the material for the 6231 red pajama top.
Of course, I wanted to be comfortable so I decided to put on a shirt I had made previously.  I wasn't sure if it looked more like a pajama top, or a shirt, so I haven't worn it until today.
What do you think?

In case you are wondering, the pictures are being taken with my Kodak C143 camera.
Have a wonderful evening.

Wrap-Around

I did it again.  I went to the local thrift store and found a vintage pattern.  For $.25, I could not pass on it.
It is has a pattern for pajamas, a robe, and a wrap.  This wrap looks interesting.  I think it would be fun to wear when shaving or jumping out of the hot-tub.
I am still working on my pajama tops I talked about earlier.  So this will probably be my next project.

Actually, I like the style of the pajamas.  Who would think there are so many pajama styles for men.  I might make one of the tops also.  A guy can never have enough pajamas.

Look at the Wrap.  It even has a pocket to keep your brush in.  With a retro hair style like the model, a brush and some Aqua-Net would be a necessity.

Pajamas in the works

My last post I was deciding on two different pajama patterns.  Well, both won.  I am starting with a top from each pattern, just to see the difference.
My first will be a top from pattern 6231 in size medium.  I am going to use a red flannel sheet for the material.  I think this will make the top quite soft and warm.
Next time I go to town I will have to get some matching thread.  In the interim, I will start cutting out material.
See you next time.

McCall's 6044, Fourth and final chapter

A few days of sleeves, buttons, and the collar.  It is finished now.  I like the style of collar on this shirt.  It is a little more rigid than the previous shirt I made (MCCall's 2049), and has the right amount of opening at the top.  I did not have to adjust the buttons at all.
It could be because it is my second shirt I made with a collar, or maybe the collar and plackets were a different style than the previous shirt, but this shirt seemed easier to make, and more dressy.

Now it is time to think about my next project.  I am thinking about pajamas, since I have patterns and some material.
The McCalls 6231 looks like it has some nice styles.  But, the McCalls 5511 has a collar on the top, not just the V-neck.  That looks interesting.  I guess I'll have to pull out the directions and see which one I will choose.

The 5511 has a pajama pattern for my dog.  He would look really cute.  Maybe he doesn't need pajamas, he has a lot of tight curly hair.  I have had Max for almost a year, he came from the pound. He likes to take walks, watch me sew, and make dinner.

Decisions, decisions...Max and I will have to discuss it.  Of course, my partner Joe will get some input also.
